Zinc selenide laser lens

2021 08/09

nSe has a wide range of applications in the field of infrared components window lenses and spectral analysis ATR prisms. Zinc Selenide is also a good choice for CO2 laser components. It has good transmittance around 10.6 microns, where the carbon dioxide laser works. The zinc selenide material is a yellow transparent polycrystalline material with a crystal particle size of about 70μm and a light transmission range of 0.5-15μm. Synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, there is basically no impurity absorption, and the scattering loss is extremely low. Because of its low absorption of 10.6μm wavelength light, it has become the material of choice for the production of optical devices in high-power CO2 laser systems. In addition, it is also a commonly used material in different optical systems in its entire transmission band.
Zinc selenide material has a high resistance to thermal shock, making it the best optical material in high-power CO2 laser systems. The hardness is only 2/3 of the multi-spectral grade ZnS. The material is soft and easily scratched, and the refractive index of the material is large. Therefore, it is necessary to plate a high-hardness anti-reflection film on the surface to protect it and obtain a higher transmittance. In its usual spectral range, the scattering is very low. When used as a high-power laser device, it is necessary to strictly control the material's bulk absorption and internal structural defects, and use the smallest damage degree of polishing technology and the highest optical quality coating process.
Widely used in the fields of laser, medicine, astronomy and infrared night vision
