inc selenide has low absorption of infrared wavelengths and can transmit visible light. It is a material for making infrared lenses, windows, output coupling mirrors and beam expanders. In high-power applications, strict control of material absorption and internal defects is very critical. To this end, not only optical polishing technology that causes minimal damage to optical components must be used, but also higher-quality optical film coatings must be used. The absorptivity of the material is tested by CO2 laser vacuum calorimetry technology. Our quality assurance department will provide tests and certify designated optical components upon customer requirements. The usual polished diameter of zinc selenide optics is between 5 and 300 mm. We can manufacture optical components with a diameter of less than 300mm and a thickness of less than 25 mm according to customer needs. Zinc selenide is not hygroscopic and chemically stable (unless it is treated with strong acid). You can use this material safely in most industrial, field, and laboratory environments.
